cigars & champagne

rachel and i attended a friend's birthday party last night. the theme was vintage casino. everyone had to dress up from the seventies and backwards. everyone else chose the forties and sixties. everyone else looked smart, swanky and classy.

i was a hippie and looked like a goofball.

rachel's sister, hannah helped me with my hair. she was brilliant. tiny braids everywhere. thanks hannah!

rachel looked amazing. hannah helped with her hair as well. rachel, you make the sixties look gooood.

rachel, you also make pumping gas, sorry petrol look good. yeooooowza.

i, on the other hand...looked like a hippie. and should not been seen out in public.

a little classic mariah to get us in the mood for a party. a poker party.

hey. it's a party.

i managed to pull off a full house. but, that was all. i am not a good poker player. before playing roulette (which i still have no clue how to play), rachel and i took a cigar break in the back garden. what's a poker game without a few cigars? come on now.

here's the birthday girl! happy birthday mary you beautiful woman you!

so, here's the thing. this is rachel and mine's first time playing poker. we played regular poker and texas hold 'em. because i am now deemed an expert, therefore entitled to an opinion, i prefer regular poker. i think how you play poker reveals a lot about yourself. i learned that i am just as cautious with my money as i am in real life. also, you can read me like a book. i learned i can't lie to save my life, therefore whenever i'm dealt a hand...just watch my face and you know exactly what's going on. bluffing? what's that?

after some champagne, this hippie was feeling pretty good. time to get this hippie home. home james rachel. thanks for driving, james rachel and remember kids...designated driving is always in style.
