so, we met up at london waterloo, had lunch and wandered south bank for a bit.
coconutty thai soup thingie with bamboo and tofu.
yum.
we went to brixton market. neither one of us had been there. it was pretty neat, saw lots of raw meat, fresh produce and colourful clothing. the only picture i took was at the end of the market...and then this happened...
the owner of this stall came out from behind and indirectly confronted me (via his friend he was chatting with) that this is a place of business, not a circus to which i replied with big eyes, batting eyelashes and my sickeningly sweet voice, but i really like the bag...to his reply this is a place of business, people are here to make money, not....then i interrupted, flashing a big smile, not slowing down, but i really liked the bag, pointed to the bag and continued on walking. out of ear shot, muttering to my friend, you're in a public place, i didn't take a picture of you, i took a picture of your bag. get over yourself. harsh i know, but come on people. it must be the nikon...people get anxious when i bring out the big guns.
brixton market. it's been a slice!
we went back to my friend's flat where she showed me her packing efforts. and then, it was like christmas morning!! i inherited a winter coat that fits perfectly, except over the boobs (story of my life...damn boobs) and a pair of jeans. i'm calling these jeans my goal jeans...they fit, but i can't do them up. i'm returning to the low carb lifestyle (after a two month hiatus) and determined to lose some more. it's on!
we left her flat and went for dinner. we were set on sushi, but couldn't find the one place she had in mind so we went back to southbank and settled for this, which, granted looks like a fun time...
but, we quickly learned how gosh darn expensive it was. highway robbery. we sat down, looked at the menu and the plates are all colour coded and they tally up your bill based on the plate colours. sarah and i looked at each other and said um, appetizer? so, we had a plate of tuna and a plate of some little cheesecake slice, paid the bill and left.
we couldn't afford this place. 8 pounds
so, we went next door.
and had mojitos...
and burgers. much better.
the end.
