day one & two.

you have jet-lag to thank for these early morning updates. it's almost eleven am england time (almost six am canadian time) and i am wide awake. i know i've neglected my blog the last week or two due to work, but when you juggle so many balls and another one gets thrown in...something has to drop, and that's okay. it's either your sanity or something else.

i choose sanity.

this is the skinny mirror. it's an immediate ego booster. this mirror has survived the states and back. it's an old mirror but, it's a good mirror. it's all smoke and mirrors. good matt good tune.

everything is bigger here. (except the skinny mirror, aha). i forgot how big the bath/shower is. i couldn't believe the height and how much room there is in there. also, the toothpaste, it's huge. i drove my parents' car the other day. i didn't last two seconds without driving on the wrong side. dad says, call me only if there's a problem. i didn't call him. it's easier when there are cars in front of you...just follow their lead.

don't freak out. i took these while parked. this taurus is a tank.

it snowed that day. i was happy. canada doesn't feel as cold as england, for some reason.

my dad taped conan for me the night i arrived. what a man. so, conan's sportin' a beard these days? i like it. he cracked himself up by calling a viewer, carrot top. oh humour, i dig you. jay leno is on in england, on the cnn channel. there's no digging of leno. but, it's comforting to watch, so i do it anyway.

i brought over, an idiot aboard and watched a few episodes with the rents. i split a stella with the bear pops and we laughed. it was good.

there's an open house today and we're calling it high tea. i baked ninety scones yesterday. yep. you heard me. ninety. i can be a baking machine when i want to be.

i can also make a really, good mess too. that hasn't changed, my dad tells me.

a mess. aha. at least i'm consistent.

i've missed my dad's cooking. yours too, mom. if you ever get asked by my parents to come for dinner you would be a stupidhead if you said no. i will slap you silly. all the way from england.

i fell asleep at nine pm last night. i asked dad if he would tape snl for me. i am such a grandma. jetlag...you're awful. i couldn't stay awake to say my life, although i hear snl has lost its mojo. and now i'm all bright eyed and busy tailed as i sit here eating yogurt, granola and berries...waiting for hot coffee. toodles.
