and yes, this is going to be a vain blog post.
it doesn't happen often, but geez...i've earned this.
this is what i left the house in this morning. it's cute.
and then, on my way home this afternoon from wandering a castle in kent, i stopped at one of my favourite clothing stores. it's like a charity shop, but with brand names. you have to work to find something good. which is probably why i like it...i like a hunt. i often turn the things i do in life into some form of a game.
so, for the past few months clothes shopping has been...interesting. i'm forever selecting the wrong size to bring into the fitting room with me and it gets exhausting as well as frustrating. i find myself drawn to the clothing styles i used to wear a year ago and then starts the internal running commentary...hayley, you're sixty-plus pounds lighter...that's not going to work this time round...you need to pick clothes that cut closer to your body...and for goodness sakes...that's okay! so, today i listened and had a freak out in the fitting room.
here we go.
leather jacket number one.
lovely grey colour. too tight in the bust. story of my life.
jacket i went home with. hello. loving the asymmetrical zipper action.
you can't read it, but the tag gives not only the uk size, but also the usa size...which puts things in perspective. the tag says it's a size ten. i almost fainted when i read that. that's gotta be a mis-print.
so, what else?
went home with this shirt and skirt. perfect for work. perfect for court.
said no to this one. couldn't justify the short-sleeves and in all honesty...it'll probably be too big in a few months anyways at the rate i'm going. it was pretty though with the dark hair. nice for summer.
and...that's all she wrote. there was a pair of flannel pj bottoms that i almost bought. they're roots...and on the inside of them is printed, made in canada. i almost bought them solely for that.
