in the captain's seat.

let me help set the scene that was last night:

pjs
wooly socks
chair by the fire
whiskey nightcap
nana knitting on the settee
me sitting in the captains chair (grandad's chair)
freshly painted coral-red toe nails wiggling by the coal fire
and both of us laughing at four weddings and a funeral on the tele

l.o.v.e.l.y.

it's been a busy weekend, but a good weekend. i got a lot of things accomplished, and that feels good. finally figured out these expense claim forms that i've been avoiding and filled out five weeks worth of mileage. that was a big job. i washed postman pat in the afternoon sun and cleaned his interior. i also visited halfords and bought a foot pump. because postman pat is so small (which means the tires are also so small),  i've learned that i can inflate the tires with a foot pump. hilarious! if i did that with amos, it would've taken forever. hey, did you know that england could fit eight times into ontario? did you know england has approximately fifty-one million people and ontario has only thirteen million people? no wonder i can inflate my tire with a foot pump.

i got to hang out with the cousins and my aunt yesterday over a traditional (scrumptious) roast dinner. i got to meet my second cousin for the first time yesterday, who now lives in maryland. i saw my parents yesterday. a forty minute conversation, free, care of skype services. however, i learned that tmobile broadband isn't compatible with skype webcam, which is going to pose as a problem. grrrr. it's always something, isn't it?

well, i suppose i should get out these pjs and get on with the day. i love mornings that involve hot coffee.  i sometimes wish it could stay morning all day. i woke up to the birds chirping away and the sunshine filled my room this morn. i savour these moments. i thank God for all he has done for me and will continue to do. great, now i'm all emotional. ha!
