i've just finished a bowl of homemade butternut squash soup. it was accompanied by a grilled cheese sandwich on dark rye bread. it's john lennon's birthday and i'm listening to bbc radio 6. they've dedicated a radio show to him. it's just after five in the afternoon.
it's canadian thanksgiving weekend and i'm a little sad to miss it...twice now.
after church i wandered the high street. it was sunny and surprisingly warm. armed with the nikon and fleet foxes...i got lost. i floated in and out of the antiques shops. this is by far the best way to spend a sunday afternoon. i almost bought a beautiful vintage lingerie slip. almost. i can just hear the photographer squealing with delight.
late saturday morning i took denver for a walk. it's getting dark earlier which means during the week when i walk him we're usually ending the walk in blackness. i need to buy a flashlight. or an old-fashioned lantern. now that would be cool.
i brought the nikon and denver wasn't shy.
see?
it is ridiculous how much joy this animal brings me. he has the sweetest disposition. he is so loyal and incredibly affectionate. he's never far from your side and he makes me laugh. geez, sounds like the qualities of a good man.
interesting.
this dog was born to retrieve. no seriously...that is what his breed does best, retrieving. you're suppose to take labradors hunting with you as they'll bring the animal to you after you've shot it. i honestly think this could be a new activity for denver and i to participate in. it could take our relationship to a whole other level.
i've always wanted to shoot a gun.
can't you picture it? me with a gun and him with a bird or rabbit in his mouth. no? well, i can.
