love me like God loves his church.
ephesians five is blowing my mind. this is something i have been working through, reading and reflecting on for the past month. maybe even the past eight months, subconsciously speaking.
and if i'm honest, all it takes is a few courtdays and a few men who choose to be abusive to throw me back into the land of skepticism and doubt.
however, he is revealing his ways - displaying examples and glimpses through his people and his word which screams this not just an ideal, but a definite reality. truth. he knows i need to see this walked out.
love me like God loves his church.
love me like God loves his church.
God wants the best for his church. he wants people to grow in their faith. further the kingdom. he loves. he cares. he respects. he provides and spends time with us...all for his church.
eve was designed from adam and for adam. his helper. a companion. he knew it was not good for adam to be alone. he knew we would need each other and this travels through so many layers: mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically, sexually.
a church gathers together for him. to fulfill his will. to be his helper. it is so interconnected it'll blow your mind.
the Lord loves and needs his church, like a man loves and needs a woman.
my friend told me, marriage, when done right, is a beautiful picture of Jesus and the church. look at that and you'll be a big ol' fan.

See if you can get hold of this book, Hayley. "Trusting God... even when life hurts" by Jerry Bridges (1988), published in Colorado Springs, Colorado by NavPress (The Navigators). I bought and read it about 12 years ago (or more) and am now re-reading it. Biblically deals with the core issues of why God is worthy of our trust. Wow, am getting so much more out of it this time round! Not for wimps. It certainly helps you grow up spiritually!
i will see if i can get a copy, mom. thanks for the recommendation!
