saturday was adventureday. that's what i'm going to call day-trips from now on. adventureday. getting up at five-thirty on a saturday isn't so bad when it's adventureday. i've decided. i had a train to catch. and, because i'm such a nerd, i brought breakfast with me. i managed to buy a coffee at the station which, let's face it...was a smart move. it was seven am. i'm nuts. adventureday makes you nuts.
this was profound. even at the crack of dawn. dude, i get you.
train change.
not bad...considering i practically got dressed in the dark.
aaah, finally. like how i managed to line up the arrow with the castle? i'm so smart.
prepping myself for the last leg of the hike uphill. and, what is up with my left foot? no, i didn't break my ankle, people.
i made it. gold star for me.
they even let me in too.
now what.
underground hospital. tour commenced at eleven-thirty. tourguideman was funny. he made jokes. i laughed. nobody else did. 'for those of you claustrophobics...you're gonna love this next bit' as we wandered the tunnels. aha.
this is the guy who led operation dynamo, admiral ramsay.
admiralty lookout. check out this bad boy. had to restrain the urge to climb. oh, the photo opps.
so much ground to cover. and, it was freakin' cold up there on that hill.
i can't even get over how old these things are. you can't make this stuff up.
the great tower. and, i was running outta steam by this point. i was getting hungry, i had to pee and i was COLD.
last stop. queen's museum.
here's my boyfriend. he doesn't look to be the sharpest tool in the shed, or he's either had a few too many. can't decide.
done.
once i was done-done with the castle, i wandered the town. desperate for a late lunch...
you know what? this post is long enough. i'm calling it a night. adventureday has worn me out. part two will air sometime in the week. give yourself a pat on the back if you made through to the end. job well done.
