i can't find my lipbalm and i'm sad.

i forgot to post this last week. sometimes i write entries, save them and then proceed to forget about them.

reasons to love the sea:

the tide.
the sound of water rushing down the pebbles on the shore. it's the coolest sound ever.
the sea salt air.
the noise of crashing waves.

this is pevensey bay. i went for another walk. quelle surprise.

this one left me wondering how all those stones got stuck in this wooden post. surely the tide doesn't come that far up shore? yes? no? it was probably some kid who was bored. like when they stick crayons up their nose or something. i can't wait for my kid to do that. it's gonna be awesome.

seagulls aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. finding nemo, anyone? i still think ellen should've been nominated for an oscar. she was soooo good as dory. remember dory? i loved dory, probably because i saw myself in her and i ramble just as much as she did and nothing i say usually makes sense. aha. tangent. uh, so as i was making my way down the beach and the gulls kept taking off and landing only to keep repeating said action multiple times. i feel sorry for the shed. i actually said outloud, why don't you just fly behind me and set up camp. that's what i would have done.

stupid gulls. maybe that's why i'm human and they're not. ouch. aha. well, i can be pretty stupid sometimes too i guess i know.

and now for the self-timer portion of this post. come on, people...who else is gonna take a photo of me? my imaginary friend, fred? i wouldn't trust him with my camera. i trust rachel tho...and the photographer. goodness...whose legs are those? oh yeah, they're mine. geez, somebody's feeling better.

whoops.

so, this new knitted hat. i haven't quite figure out who's wearing who...whom...who yet. thoughts?

this was a pretty stone. i used to have a pair socks that looked like this. they were polka dots.

i don't know why i have such an affinity to the sea. so far, i've been able to experience the english seasons of spring, summer, autumn next to water. that was the plan in coming here. to live by the sea. now, i'm waiting for winter. i'm convinced any season is awesome by the sea. the great lakes don't compare. lake erie and all those summer days spent at long point are great memories, but the sea is just so much, grandeur. there has to be a tide in order to get this girl excited. maybe because it reminds me of new hampshire, plus those vacaas i took, once with my parents and then the cottage the photographer, the knitter and the literary genius and i rented that one summer in maine. it also reminds me when i went with my parents, cousin laura, my nana and my grandad, while he was still alive to llaundudno, wales for a holiday a few years ago too.

oh hey, i've torn myself away from this blackberry memo post to notice that the tide's gone out.

maybe that's why i like the sea. it keeps you guessing...like a mystery.
