rachel gets up from the couch to tap the candleholder, and sits back down. i turn to look at her and say, "what was that about?" and she said she was wondering if the candle holder was made of wax or metal/glass, so she tapped to make sure it wasn't wax. i asked her if she felt better, satisfied her curiosity and she said, "yes, i had been thinking about it for awhile now".
tuesday night
rachel gets home from work late and i have a yummy tuna casserole in the oven. we have small group tonight. we've grown accustomed to dim lighting and candlelit dinners since it gets dark around...say, six thirty. heading out the door with keys in my hand, i say to rachel, "oh! the candles! i didn't blow them out!" and she replies, "i did." as i'm closing the door i say, "thanks! phew, how irresponsible of me" and walk away. rachel stands there looking at me and then the door and says, "umm...the door, you gonna lock the door since you're the one with the keys?"
"oh, right" i say.
americano at cheese & alfies. no chocolate smile incident this time round.
where i'm headed next.
this is about as close to snow as i'm going to get this winter.
daily attire. rachel and i are going to see how long we can go without putting the heating on.
somebody needs to start her new job soon. somebody at the c-r-b office needs to get a move on this thing called a background check, four to six weeks my ass. it's not like i've been in this country for years (eight months) racking up a rebel-filled repertoire. what is there to check people?!? oh, and i was upfront about those parking tickets and that one speeding ticket. that should help move this thing along, surely!
