sir thomas arundell's crib

in need of a castle fix, i went to visit, old wardour castle yesterday. this was by far the best castle in ruins i have ever visited. cheap admission and an audio tape tour too. there was a wedding happening when i arrived and a school group was running around acting out scenes from robin hood. one of the robin hood films with kevin costner and morgan freeman was filmed here in the early 90s.

the cashier's accent sounded non-english and i asked her where she was from and she said denver. she went on to say how she married an englishmen and hasn't gone home since. she then told me how cold the english can be and sometimes aren't very welcoming. she says she doesn't always get the responses she hopes for when people learn she's american. i kept my mouth shut.

but, we bonded over talking about home and that nothing can replace being at home and with people from the homeland. so, that was nice.

okay, enough talking. on to the pictures.

when you travel alone, you resort to the self-timer. cheesy posed shots? yes.

here we go.

i have an overwhelming desire to do a photo shoot in that castle.... wide angle, low tot the ground, with a gorgeous female model in a billowing grown just blowing out behind her. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Covet.
